What
does glutathione do? Glutathione is the most powerful, the most
versatile and the most important of the body’s self-generated antioxidants.
Composed of three amino acids joined together in a unique way, glutathione
protects every tissue, every cell and every organ in the body. |

Key
Ingredients |
|
L-Glutathione, |
Glutathione, the “master antioxidant”, is a fluffy white microcrystalline powder that mixes easily with calcium ascorbate and alpha-tocopheryl succinate. It is the most important substance that you can give your pet to counter the daily onslaught of free radicals. This key micronutrient governs the overall reduction/oxidation state of every cell in the body. The reduced form of the compound is the most readily useful to animals and humans. Our product taken daily along with protein, can lend your pet a healthy, happy and long enriched life.
|
Vitamin E Acetate |
The main lipid (fat) soluble antioxidant. It is necessary to all mammals and many other animals as well. In addition to keeping all the lipids in the body from becoming rancid, it also works well with vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and glutathione that are both water-soluble. We use the acetate form for Kitty Lix™ because it is an oily liquid and protects the vitamin E from oxidizing before it gets to the stomach where the vitamin is released and absorbed. Our product contains the succinate form for Kitty LixTM Powder because it is a powder itself and mixes well with the other two ingredients. It also is released in the stomach where the vitamin is absorbed. |
Vitamin C
|
The
main water-soluble antioxidant after glutathione. Although most animals
make their own vitamin C, most do not make enough to prevent free radicals
from causing damage to their cells and tissues. Vitamin C also works
well with vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) and glutathione to manage the
health and state of the body. The free ascorbic acid is not tolerated
well by cats and dogs because of the acidity so the calcium salt of
ascorbic acid is used which is tolerated well.
